HOME - PLAYER KIT DESIGN INSPIRATION
HAMMER & LIGHTNING
The Hammers FC home kit is inspired by Viking heritage, drawing on themes of strength, resilience, and tradition. At the heart of the design is a newly developed crest, featuring a stylized Viking hammer that serves as a symbol of power and unity while giving the club a bold, modern identity.
Built on the club’s signature blue base, the kit is elevated with lightning yellow trim on the cuffs and collar to introduce contrast and energy. A traditional polo-style collar grounds the design in classic football aesthetics, balancing heritage influences with a clean, contemporary execution suited to the modern grassroots game.
HOME - GOALKEEPER KIT DESIGN INSPIRATION
CHESS NOT CHECKERS
The Hammers FC goalkeeper kit was designed to make a bold statement while remaining visually connected to the home players kit. Lightning yellow is used as the primary colour, ensuring maximum on-pitch visibility, while subtle blue accents on the trim tie the design back to the club’s traditional blue base.
To push the concept further, the design embraces a “chess, not checkers” philosophy, using a chessboard pattern across the front of the kit. This graphic treatment reflects the craftiness, concentration, and strategic thinking required of a goalkeeper, creating a jersey that is not only visually striking but rich in meaning and intent.
AWAY - PLAYER KIT DESIGN INSPIRATION
MJOLNIR
The Hammers FC away kit takes inspiration from Mjölnir, the hammer of Thor, leaning further into the club’s Viking identity while establishing a distinct visual language from the home kit. A unique badge design featuring a standalone Viking hammer replaces the primary crest, reinforcing the mythological influence and giving the away kit its own unmistakable character. This hammer motif is echoed on the back of the collar, adding a subtle but striking detail that elevates the overall design.
Departing from the club’s traditional white for the second kit, Valla introduced a timeless tan and maroon colour palette, inspired by classic alternate kits made famous by AS Roma’s wolf-era designs. The result is an away kit that feels both bold and refined — rooted in heritage, rich in symbolism, and designed to stand apart while remaining unmistakably Hammers FC.
AWAY - GOALKEEPER KIT DESIGN INSPIRATION
VIKING LONGBOAT
The Hammers FC away goalkeeper kit pushes the Viking narrative even further, embracing bold symbolism and dramatic contrast. Finished in all black, the design features a gold outlined Viking ship sailing across the front of the jersey, representing exploration, power, and the relentless spirit associated with Norse mythology. This striking visual anchors the kit firmly within Viking lore and expands on the story introduced by the Mjölnir-inspired away player kit.
To maintain cohesion across the away range, subtle maroon and tan accents are worked into the trim, tying the goalkeeper kit back to the away player kit’s colour palette. The result is a goalkeeper jersey designed to stand apart visually while remaining connected to the broader identity of the club — a commanding, fearless design that ensures the goalkeeper is the most visually striking presence on the pitch.
